A Hot Winter Day in San Diego

It was mid-January. How in the world is it in the 70s and 80s!? I'm not complaining, I'm just saying...

We decided to have a picnic at La Jolla Cove with Mama Sanchez, Tia Marlene, Tio Chito and Saulito with our Jersey Mike club sandwiches "Mike's way".

I had my camera in the trunk and decided I wanted to enjoy the day without taking pictures. Plus, it was way too bright that day anyway. That idea didn't last long for someone who gets camera happy over everything so I ran to the car and grabbed my toy. We set up shop under a tree where the lighting was perfect. The sammiches were fantastic... People-watching is always fun... and watching the girls run around is priceless. I was able to capture a few really cool shots of the girls playing.

A New Year...A New Resolution...

Happy 2011! Here we are, another year down, another one ahead of us. I've had my DSLR for 2 years now and I love taking pictures with it but this is the year I promised myself I would take the time to learn it and practice it! I WANT TO BE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER ONE DAY. Not tomorrow, not next week, or next month, but one day... Wait- when can you actually start to consider yourself a professional anyway?

In January, we took the girls to Balboa park to play. I figured this was the perfect opportunity for me to play too! I followed them as they jumped on benches, raced around the Spanish Art Center, took a train ride, and climbed the roots of trees. We all had a good time and I was able to capture some fun images. It was perfect.
